SUSTAINABLE  DEVELOPMENT (Group 13)

Personal view :

• Using sustainable materials that should not impact with environment, to develop the construction environment  - Madusanka S.G.A - 162425E

• Sustainable Development is country should develop but resources must save for the future generation. That development should economical and socialist – Lankapriya H.J. - 162424B

• Sustainable development is increase number of reuse and recycle materials - Jayakody K.H.S.K -164215A

• Develop economic and social factors for future generation - Kuruppu K.A.U.I - 162700T

• Using resources effectively and efficiently - Nisha J. - 162710A

Literature view :

·       Sustainable development states that humanity must take no more from nature than nature can replenish (Nature resources and sustainable development, 2008)

·        Sustainable development means basing development and environment policies on comparison of cost and benefit and on careful economic analysis that will strengthen environmental protection and lead to rising and sustainable level of welfare (World Bank.1992)

·       Sustainable developed trough political and environmental struggles through on engage mental with the complexity of contemporary ecological and other problems and through a vast array of differing perspective values and interests (Blewitt J.,2008)

Critical review :

According to our personal view we thought that sustainable development is doing the construction without environmental impact. Using sustainable materials for the construction industry.

As well as we only consider the about the one side of the sustainable concept.  Sustainable development must be economical and free of environmental impact. Not only that we consider about only construction industry.

But when we consider about the concept of sustainable development our personal view become wrong. According to the Literature view sustainable development is a very wide concept. It include all the side of the industries (Eg: Construction, Manufacturing Industry). In early Sustainable development concept main focus is save the resources that word have for the future generation. But in modern sustainable development is not only consider save resources. Its consider environmental impact, social impact as well.
