LAND CONSERVATION STRATEGIES

A

These two types of instruments for private land conservation are grounded in differing philosophies on governance and private property rights, administered by separate agencies, and often promoted by different political organizations.
Many valuable sites of historic importance, natural significance and scenic beauty, protected today, would have been developed had it not been for the generosity of individuals, groups and companies who chose to donate their land to one of the public or private organizations which can accept land and assure that it will remain in its natural state. Building and unsustainable agricultural methods will lead to a decline in soil quality that provide humanity with essential services. The most important functions of the soils are living purpose, among other things, food, building materials, clothing and regulation of green water and air.
