INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS

With the industrial revolution and modernization, many other issues related to it are also increasing. Problems of resource exploitation, pollution etc. has emerged as global issue and matter of high concern. Out of various industries, construction industry is one such sector which contributes highly for problems like emission of green house gases to atmosphere. Materials like cement, steel, bricks are highly energy intensive material. Many of the convectional materials and technology options for building construction do not meet sustainability criteria. Lesser use of theses material and alternative environmentally friendly material contributes significantly in reducing CO2 gas emission and problems associated with it. The strategy of  3R that is reduce is reduce, reuse, and recycle is one of the important techniques in the construction industry to achieve the sustainability. The comparative results of analysis and design for various such percentage replaced waste mix concrete is highlighted. The analysis and design results obtained on the basis of innovative materials having properties are fair enough for utilizing in the construction practices.
The only way to overcome these problems is to make balance by reutilizing waste material as percentage replacement in raw materials and reduce resources consumption quantity. Apart from the construction waste like burnt brick, demolished concrete, removed plasters etc. waste like tyres, waste material ash, agricultural waste, coconut shell and many more such waste .For a long time, the development of human society has completely depend on constant consumption of natural resources.
Recycled aggregate, recycled singles, warm mix asphalt, and bio asphalt are examples of materials used in the design of newly constructed roadways. concerns of global warming and energy consumption are impetuses for the asphalt industry to lower the carbon footprint.
Below are some innovative sustainable materials.
Polyester
Better option include recycled recycled polyester. 19% of polyester used in nike brand apparel is recycled.

Rubber
Better option include new  rubber formulations. Nike developed two such formulations now used in more than 30 finished rubber compounds.
Eva foam
Cotton
Synthetic leather
Leather
Bamboo
Santol wood
Hemp concrete
